About

Wicked Lounge is an alternative rock band. Originally formed in Portugal in 1995 by João Nascimento (guitar and vocals) and Hugo Larcher (guitar).

The first formation of the band featured Miguel Cardoso (bass) and Sergio Catela (drums) and wrote a lot of songs that were never released while trying to find its sound.

The band played a few gigs and stood out for its unique sound in a music scene filled with punk and metal bands.

By 1996 the band had suffered big changes in its formation with Marco Cova (bass) and Amadeu Rito (drums) replacing the previous members. With this formation the band went on to write some of its more memorable songs.

Several live performances later, in 1997 the band recorded its first demo at Edit Studios under the name “Fairylands in the Future?”. This demo featured Nelson Jerónimo (keyboards) as a guest musician but he would soon join the band permanently.

In late 1997 another change happened in the band with João Bernardo replacing Amadeu Rito on the drums, and in 1998 this new formation recorded the second demo “onehundredhintsforthosewhowerebornslightlydefective.

The year 2000 saw the release of the 3rd demo “micro canyon” mostly written and recorded by João Nascimento, the demo received good critics again and more gigs followed along with a few new songs until the band stopped playing in 2001.

All recorded songs are now compiled into a single release available in most platforms under the name “Time Travel at the Speed of Sound”.
